New RX65 Pro and Escort Live Smart Cord

Hi folks,

Just got this New RX65 Pro for Christmas with the Escort Live Power cord, which it is supposed to be compatible with.

So I download the I Phone app, hook everything up. Register the Live Cord at Escort and the RX65 at Belltronics. The Blue Tooth connects and the APP says it needs to up date the firmware of the detector and to enter the first two digits of the detector, which in this case is BY. The app says that's not a valid serial number, and the app does not see the detector.

I also see you guys talking about downloading firmware, etc. I have read the instruction book backwards and forwards on the RX65 and I see nothing about downloading firmware updates.

Obviously I am missing something here. Is there a step by step, for dummies like me?

Nope. No other step. Call escort. I thought there was an extra step or longer process for GX65 or 9500ix.

Escort recently released an update to the iPhone version, which specifically referenced the RX65 model. Maybe this update is necessary for your detector to get the correct firmware update.

Correct. RX65s without Ku band detection were not initially compatible with Escort Live on iPhone. The iPhone app was updated with support for these RX65s in v1.0.1. You can check your installed version of Escort Live on the "About" page.
