    Default New Pro 300

The PRO 300 looks like a promising unit. From what I read its the same as the new and improved 8500 X50. But that sucks about the laser fault issues. Is it a big issue or a small hindrance? Does the newer X50 have the same laser/sun issue if they are pretty much the same unit less the voice alert?
The reason I ask is I have been a long time V1 user but I am sick and tired of it barking at everything under the sun. Situation awareness turns into situation confusing. So the other day It kept barking I kept ignoring it, then I got a real threat that I could have gotten a speeding ticket if I was going a little faster then I was. So I want a detector that is sensitive, but selective.

The V1 is a fantastic unit and with programming options it can be quieted down a little on k/x band. Since you aren't happy with it right now you should look into those options. There are many forum members that know more than I about it and maybe what option would be good for your area.
The new Pro 300 does look promising except for the laser falsing that has plagued many RX65's. I would consider one if it weren't for laser falses and I don't think that the USA mode is what it used to be (segmented ka band with rdr off) it is probably full ka sweep with rdr on and USA mode is because it is an international unit. As far as the X50 black,I have not had any laser false issues,it has done quite well at detecting laser. It has really good performance on the radar bands.

Thanks for you reply. I have had various updated V1s since the late 90s. I have my V1 programmed with X completely off and K altered to suppress after so many seconds. It helps but I do get annoying laser false with it as well. Price you pay for good sensitivity. I'm looking to purchase a new detector as the V1 IMO is showing it's design age. Its a great RD but when you think of it, the design hasn't change since they shrank it, just the insides. Continuous improvement is great but you can't forget the outside. It's like taking a car from the early 90s and just making improvements to the inside. Nobody would buy it after a while. That's just my opinion so I don't want to upset any diehard V1 zombies but this V1 owner is looking to see what else is out there. I will have a serious look at the X50 black.

ide say small hinderance. somedays no laser alerts especially if not too bright outside. if its a sunny day and your driving into the sun expect a laser false. it annoyed me enough to shut it off and just rely on my jammers which is ok with me. usa mode is awesome on the pro300. off axis ka is sick and range. comparing to the rx65. whatever they did...props cause this unit is crazy sick and with tsr i dont have k band falsing anymore. a pure road drivers detector. i think better than the x50 but testing will prove this later.(except laser) i look at it like once hit with laser your busted anyways without the jammers so i dont mind sacrificing laser for better ka range/detection.

The new PRO-300 (aka...improved RX65) is a good RD...no doubt. But it doesn't have the raw performance of the V1...it's also not as fast as the V1 (and if you live in one of those rare POP areas..the V1's much better there too). And LIDAR...V1 again (though it's not LIDAR protection...just notification)

But the Bel is a bit better on suppressing some of the falsing....but it will still bark at 7-Elevens (some days I wonder if I could close my eyes and still drive to the 7-Eleven just based upon how the RD is beeping at me). To really get rid of the falses, then the GPS RD is king. The 9500-series or the PRO-500 (aka...improved GX65). After you drive your common commute in the city/burbs a few times and lock out the falses, the thing gets eerily quiet...for days on end. Performance-wise, these are M4's and will be performing real similar to the X50/PRO-300 M4's.

Also king suppressing falses would be any of the latest Bel/Escort offerings with Escort Live as long as you're cool with running your smartphone with it.

ill sum it up like this...v1 are great but i dont live in the 70's or 80's and it looks like crap in a nice sports car. that said i been using top end bel going back 20 years. in the last 12 years not 1 ticket and owe it to my bel pro300 today and laser blinder m27's. the design is so much cooler and will still give plenty of time especially all the extra features the v1 doesnt have making it far too chatty for me. if it had a refreshed look and cooler modern age looks, ide try it but I love the bel/escort models which have saved me plenty over my years. the pro300 is way faster on kabands and i/o ka 35.5 here in town gave me over a mile and atr first i thought a false but nope there he was hiding shooting cars and it caught the bounce. its fast as that cop could pull the trigger, my pro300 nailed it everytime. and the off axis is sick along with tsr which basically eliminates all my old k band alerts falsing which are now gone 99% unless its real k band from asign ,etc. range in k and ka bands are far greater than my rx65(was new when i exchanged it) this radar is night and day.
only bad thing is laser falsing into sun but im not too concerned having jammers since 2004, had the zr3, zr4, lp-905 and now my neww m27 blinders which are awesome and already saved me over the bridge and cop got guy next to me and pulled right out and waved me by!

Has it already been tested against a Multanova 6F (34,3 GHz) in INTL mode ?

short answer...yes but the main reaon is because my bel pro300/escort x50/rx65 detectors in my opinion are better or about the same in radar detection with regard to ka band. i dont use x band, and k band is rarely used where i live and the k band and x band are where the valentine rd units are better in those bands but as far as ka band, i actually pick the ka band (35.5 and 34.7) up earlier than the valentine unit. we did some testing with my new pro 300 against the hand held i/o 35.5 ka band the police use here and me and my friend(he owns the v1 and loves it like i love the belscort line) actually were tied both off axis shots and straight on shots. so for the money difference, bel pro300 was outperforming the v1 and or at least within 1 second either way.
also the pro 300 is superb with regard to the k band now vs the rx65 i used to have. whatever they did to the new bel models(lens) made a big difference in k band range and i own a blinder m27 for laser(the valentine is much better for the laser by far) but having the blinder...i dont care about laser detection so i shut that off too on the rd unit.
the pro 300 now doesnt have ku band, sws, and this also makes the response times on the unit much faster than previous bel models. If there was any noticeable difference in the v1 unit compared to my pro 300, i would consider the v1, but any difference is so small that i personally love the bel pro300 and wouldnt trade it for anything.
and ive owned belscort since 1990 and used to there detector and the unit is just simply awesome so besides the old looking body design the v1 has just doesnt appeal to me.
in my opinion the pro 300 is a better detector than the v1(my opinion) after doing testing with my buddy...so its not just the old design of the v1 it is the performance is about the same and cant wait till some independant testing is done so you can see what i mean cause the new line of belscort pro series are very top of line for less money.
