I am a proud new owner of a Beltronics RX-65 (m4) rev 6.5-
it has TSR & supports Escort live. I bought it brand new from an authorized dealer about 3 months ago. I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. However I have a question that I have not been able to find a direct answer to online.
I will begin by stating what I believe to be correct: I am aware that Ka USA mode segments Ka band into a few slots where guns are known to operate, instead of having to scan the entire superwide band. Therefore it increases the Ka range/improves reaction time. So it is supposedly much safer against quick trigger & instant on. However, international mode scans the entire Ka spectrum- thus eliminating the risk of missing a hit from an out of tune gun, at the expense of reaction time.
Basically I want to know if all current Ka radar guns are required to be in one of those 3 (or 4?) segments that the RX-65 splits Ka band into with USA mode. Also I want to know how much leeway beltronics incorporated above and below each of those 3 (or 4?) segments for out of tune guns. If there is plenty of leeway, then I would certainly run my unit in USA mode. But I have not been able to find a legitimate source for that information. So I have been running my unit in Ka international.
Thanks guys
-Sam
