Cool! Will they upgrade existing units to band segmentation?

I'm also wondering if we will be able to get the update for those of us that have Escort Live instead of sending it in to Beltronics/Escort/Cobra???We are still able to upgrade any older Redline's that don't have the firmware to have the Ka band segmentation/R.D.R. feature. We were even told this could NOT even be added to the Bel-Sti Magnum without this and that,so I will NOT be shocked if later down the short road we can just add this update through Escort live.

Here's the deal: If you update to a Magnum from the Sti Driver for $119.00 (which is actually a steal of a deal) , you get the BSRDR firmware with the detector update. If you have a Magnum and want its firmware updated, then you'll have to wait at LEAST 2 weeks from now as they are swamped with requests for the firmware upgrade and a formal program is NOT yet in place.

Thanks. I'd already upgraded Driver to Magnum before there was BSRDR firmware, so I guess I'll have to be patient.

I sent my Sti Driver in for the Magnum and Bs/RDR upgrade. Once they received it, they informed me the firmware upgrade has been delayed for two weeks. I told them to hold on to it until the upgrade can be made.

Yesterday when I checked my mailbox, I found a Sticky Cup waiting for me. I guess its because of the delay. I thought that was pretty cool of Belscort (Cedar)!

Its been a full two weeks and they still haven't a formal program ( yet again) but they are going to do the update for firmware. We just need to be patient.

I guess I was too patient...

For anyone coming back to this thread years later, as Cedar/Escort parted-out Beltronics they apparently performed the BS/RDR firmware update on Bel STi Magnum RDs as a $40 mail-in. They now refuse to service or update hardware or software of any Bel products via mail-in at any price. If you already upgraded to Bel Sti Magnum or bought a Magnum without the update, the BS/RDR firmware update might still be availabe from the old Bel server database, but you probably only get one try! DO NOT use the SmartCord Live PLug and Play version (serials beginning with 8xxxxxxx). Only even attempt with a SmartCord Live Classic version (serials beginning with 4xxxxxxx). The first time you try at least the Android-only version of Escort's SmartCord Live Bluetooth cable paired with an old version of the Escort Live Android App (e.g., v2.1.14), it might still work but unfortunately if there's any sort of communications glitch, the system refuses to resend the update for that RD's serial number and Escort refuses to "contact the server guys" to reset it, so we're apparently SOL. Multi-page pdf attached for my ALMOST successful attempt using EL v2.1.14.STi-Magnum-OTA-Update-76%.pdf
