Newbie and BEL RX65 S7

Hello everyone.. newbie here... Got a new bel RX65 S7 Given too me and gonna try it out. But wonder what may be best settings all around.. Im up here in central n.y. north of syracuse... I finally found where the us/internatinal settings were and have it set to U.S now, and lo X ..
Oh almost forgot.. It has software ver 4.5.
And tried to register, on bel sight but it fails... saying already is.. yuk. But wondered if it will need update.

The RX65 was a awesome detector. Where it's going to come up "short" today is lacking an effective ability to filter out the new K-band automotive systems that will likely cause a lot of K-band falsing. Plus it's ability to detector the latest lasers will not be up to par.

If you really wanted to go all out, I would recommend the Escort Redline or if you like the Beltronics feel, the STi Magnum now that it's segmentable.

If you wanted GPS capability, you may want to consider the Beltronics GT7. To me, if reminds me of the RX65 to a degree and is one of my preferred Beltronics detectors. If you do decide to go these ways, may I suggest you consider supporting radarbusters.

Hope this answer helps. If you only drive in NY, USA mode, and disabling X-band is fine. If you ever drive to NJ (or Ohio), you should enable X-band as it is still used in those states.

Thanks, Had to do a road trip today, And i know that having two detectors in window isnt the best test,, But as you said alot of false k band with the RX65 S7 - I had it running with a Escort 9500ix i have here, and on three diff occasions , where i had po po coming at me,from slight grade,, the Escort beat the RX65 S7 on K/A every time..and i had the escort set with gps off, and TSR off.... Surprised me that it did...Thought for sure the bel would had beaten the escort to the K/A
Was thinking of possably a max or a GT-7. -- If money allows me too in the next month..

I'd take the GT7 over the Max. I love that detector!

Did alot of research. And i just ordered a redline thru Radarbusters.
Anyone wanna buy my new bel RX-65 S7, minus cord.
Loved the ramp up on the rx-65. Hopefully the redline is up to that task.

Getting ready to possably cancele my redline order...Since place wont respond to yesturdays email or todays that i sent. or their chat..
Maybe a bel magnum. New version should be ok. Any thoughts ?
