Is there any reason to buy an STI in a legal state? In other words, is the sole advantage (and reason it's $150 more than the top 3) the fact that it's undetectable?

Right now, I would say yes: the main reason to purchase it is the fact that it is undetectable. So get it if you live or drive where detectors are banned.Originally Posted by abetaque
It does have some other advantages, such as the rugged case etc. But right now, I wouldn't buy one in a legal state, until they have the bugs worked out.

I tend to agree with Jim about not buying a STi if you live in a state where RDs are legal. To my way of thinking, the price is just a bit steep and there does seem to appear some bugs in the STI. However, if I lived in a state where RD's were illegal, the STi would be my number 1 choice.

Considering that the STI costs more than the V1 but is outperformed by it, I'd get the V1. Even that may be overkill, as the vast majority of people would do fine with an X50 or RX65. Save yourself the $50 and get a V1, or save $150 and get an X50.
Spend the money wisely on a V1..... :wink:Originally Posted by the horn13
