    Default EBay Question

I unfortunately bought my X50 on Ebay before I found this board and did not know the consequences of doing so. I know ignorance is no excuse for this sortof thing but I had a question: Have any of you ever done the same and sent the RD in for repair at any time? What was your experience there?

    Thanks in advance.

No need to beat yourself up about it. There are so many "good deals" out there in name only that we all get suckered at least once.

Always assume that items described as "customer returns, excess inventory, etc." are broken.

Same thing with me with my rx65... Ionno, I have had no problems and ive had it for 2 months now. The guy i bought it from says any unit that doesn't work can be sent in for a completely new one, which is obviously questionable. However, i will say i have had no problems with mine, works fine and everthing is there (didn't send it to me missing anything that i know of so far)

I am very weary and cautious of these ebay auctions now and will in the future only buy from the company itself. 8)

If you send it for repairs, they check your serial number and see you bought it from ebay, the factory waranty is canceled and you got to pay a 49,95$ Standard fee for them to repair it.

They can't tell, unless you tell them. I buy a crapload of stuff off of Ebay, including my X50. If I have to pay $50 2 seperate times to have it fixed ever then I'll still be money ahead for as cheap as I got it. With shipping I paid under $200 for it. Out of +100 transactions, I've only been screwed 3 times but that was early in ebay history. Now there's more protection.

Default How do they see that I bought it from Ebay?

All the authorized dealers have to report back the serial numbers that they sell.

Also allot of the Ebay units are factory seconds/returns that they send off to Mexico and South America. They have the serial numbers. They then sell these as new in the border towns at around $175.00.

In my opinion buying any detector off of ebay is a very bad idea and I will NEVER buy a detector off of ebay.
