    Default M40 mounting location...Ford Expedition

First of all, thanks to Leon and Roy. Top notch customer service at both companies. I just wanted to get the forum's opinion, too. Hope you guys don't mind. I've been glued to this site for days. It's 1:30 am now and my mind is going numb thinking about work at 7, but here goes.

Part 1: Upon close inspection of the front of my truck, an install in the air-vent (where the front license plate USED to be...) will be very difficult. Unless it will cost me a ticket, my choices are limited to the grill (I don't mind cutting) and along the top of the bumper (where there is a perfectly spaced gap the full width of the vehicle). I will Veil the headlights, but not the chrome (I would if it held and looked decent, but I know it isn't made for that) and a bra isn't going to happen.

Part 2: Would 3 units be enough? Is it a waste of a blinder to try and protect the back plate? I will have the laser shield, too. I know that 95% of shots are to the front, but the police around are pretty slick.

If y'all think I need 4 up front, so be it. I want to feel confident with the front at least. I know I'm hurtin' with the chrome bumper. This vehicle has a large hood, too (I'm imagining an officer on an overpass with a smirk on his face). :x

    Thanks.

I tested the link, but I've never used snapfish before.

Well if there is enuff room, you might be able to mount them in the gap between your grill and bumper, and 2 more in the area where your license plate would be.That is alot of chrome to defend.Four heads upfront would be ideal.

The gap is a perfect fit, but I'd like to avoid the space where the license plate goes because it would require more labor than I'm willing to do. Here's what I'm thinking:

Is this and veil enough? Also, would 1 at the rear plate help at all?

A single Blinder head on the back of a Expedition prob. won't help you at all, I think you would be better off putting all 4 upfront because that is where most laser attacks occur.

exactly, 1 blinder head on the rear wont do shiit for the Expo, plus your gunna need as many heads up front as you can get with all that chrome , its all good though, im glad to see more and more SUV drivers like myself stealthing out their "Apartment on wheels"

    Agreed. 4 it is.

Ok. So, here's the picture of the final decision. Anybody disagree? It's going on as soon as it quits raining here in B-Ham.

The green is the Veil and the yellow are the Blinders. I attempted to draw 18" radius circles around them for a better idea of coverage.

I'll have to glue/tape the top row. Any suggestions? I've heard JB Weld (sucked) and 3M tape (sucked worse). The problem is they'll have to be cantilevered (like a diving board into the grill). I can't get a bracket in there and only 1/3 of the blinder will be adhered to the flat part of the grill because the grill is so skinny (about a half inch deep).

That should do it Justin. With all 4 heads upfront and veil you should be as stealthy as can be..

No front plate. Another benefit of living in Alabama.

The back plate will have laser shield (not that it will help all that much) and Veil everywhere I can put it...

Then I think you are in good shape as you'll have good coverage wheter the officer targets your center mass or your lights.
