anyone have any experience with this? my concern was that since the box would be mounted behind the bumper the blinder would lose some of its effectiveness... any thoughts?

I know it deploys fast but, why handicap yourself for even a breif split second, then god forbid that thing fails holy shyt. Plus how can it detect the laser if it is hidden out of view? It would seem that it would hinder performance being additionaly mounted further back into the grill.

I am pretty sure you want to leave them down completely while driving, then you can pull them up when parking (or if you get pulled over).
Flip the toggle switch, and the heavy duty electric actuators extend, placing your jammer heads into the ready position. Flip the switch again, and the jammer heads retract into the concealed position.
I believe the only time you raise the heads out of view is when you park to prevent theft or during a police inspection of your vehicle, they would be lowered while driving.Originally Posted by amoney
I would agree that they would not perform as well, particularly if the threat is elevated since the heads would be recessed.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
my bad, I thought they sprung into action, ok that makes sense, pays to read a little bit moreops:
That would be cool, like something found on James Bond's ride or the Batmobile.Originally Posted by amoney

yea, i would obviously keep them down when driving but i go to school in an area that isn't too safe so when i buy the blinder's i don't want to have the risk of getting them stolen, i just didn't know if since the box would be a few inches behind where the head's are usually mounted, if it would negatively effect the performance of the unit
I have it installed in my Subaru and had it tested with a laser gun LTI 2020, it worked great even in short distances.
The front bumper opening in the Subaru is located at the perfect location for installing the Blinder units, and the fact that they are inside the bumper and not in the front has less meaning then having the best geometrical location.
Most of the time the situation is that you are going uphill and the cop is over the hill, and in this case the Blinders have a full clear view of the cop...
BTW you can connect this kit to the switch or alarm system and have it operated automatically when you start the car or use the alarm's remote...
anyone have this lift n hide kit
