Thread: Level or what?

    Default Level or what?

OK so I installed my M20x yesterday, and I think I did a pretty good job. My only concern is: how "level" is "level?" I had to use molding tape since there was no real room for the brackets. The tape is very strong, but it's not really easy to adjust the elevation angle. First of all, it's really hard to find a flat surface for my car to sit on. Everything has a slight grade around here. I can basically get the bubble in between the two center lines, but it "leans" a little bit, indicating it's pointing very slightly up or down at different times.

Am I worrying too much, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

It needs to be level. I wish I could say you're alright, but I've noticed considerable punch throughs on any laser jammer if the transmitters aren't level.

My suggestion for Blinder is to come out with a better mounting bracket, so you can adjust the blinder head up and down.

Look at the sides of the Blinder heads. Do you see how there are two screws for each side? Take out one screw and you should be able to swivel it. Buy some lock washers at the hardware store to keep the transmitter from wiggling around.

That's just it. I can't use the bracket - there's no room. The transceivers are taped to the bottom of the bumper.

Late-model BMW coupe. My car looks just like this one except I have a license plate in front. My transceivers are to either side of the plate, but inside the two little "splitters" on the bottom of the bumper.

Sorry, should add that my car is not white, but medium/dark blue.

I hate BMW cars when it comes to laser jammer installs. It's hard to find a good spot. Do you have the jammers taped on top of the bumper or near the fog lights?

In any case I would recommend you buy some Veil.

They're taped under the middle "lip" of the bumper. Exactly level with the fog lights, and even with the outer edges of the chrome grill - just inside the two "teeth" in the bumper.

Perhaps I'll post pix of the install tomorrow - I'm separated from my camera until then.

Thanks for your help. Yeah, I should get some Veil.

Har! "Tomorrow." Shyeahright! Anyway, here's a shot of the front of my car:

Yes, one headlight is Veiled, the other isn't. The transponders are right next to the license plate.

    Default placement

Can you mount the transponders above the plate but below where the hood comes down so you can get some protection on your headlights? It seems like there is a bit of space where you can mount them below the grill/hood but above the bumper
