I had a local car audio/electronics shop install the M20 on my car yesterday. What I've read on these forums (and I have read a LOT - thanks for all the useful information here) doesn't seem to match up with what the folks at this shop are telling me. They say they have done lots of Blinder installations, but doing something a lot doesn't necessarily equal doing it well.
To start with, they left out the on/off switch, so I have no way to disable the system short of turning the whole car off. This was a surprising omission, and one I can't live with, so I'm having them add the on/off switch in next week.
I'm mostly concerned about the placement of the heads. They are mounted inside the lower grille, which is plastic. While it is a very stealthy location, I read here that anything at all in front of the heads can reduce the effectiveness of the jammer. The shop claims they'll work fine where they are. I'm also unsure about whether they should be higher, farther apart, or closer to the headlights? Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Should I have them moved?
I'd really appreciate any advice.
