Default How Does Blinder M25 Work With 8500 X50

I have a 2004 Yamaha YZF R6 and bought the license plate mount for the Rear Blinder head to mount on my bike and I almost have it back together but I have to order a fender elimenater so I can get my blinkers back on with out the plate holder and mud flap but I was doing some testing and I used a dvd remote ctrl and aimed it at the head of the Blinder M25 while it was not mounted to the front of the bike at this time and it sets the RD 8500 X50 off and says laser so then I turned the head the opisite direction and fired the remote again and laser is spelled on the RD and I can't figure out why it's doing this? I don't have a cable to link the 2 together.....

I tryed setn the RD off with the remote but it don't work but with the blinder it sets it off every time and I can't figure it out...lol.... I even covered the rear blinder thinking that had somthing to do with it but it did not disrupt it.

if any one can find information on this or try it your self and see if you can get it to happen like this then let me know please.....

I thought mabie it was a voltage thing but who knows lol.....

The Blinder, when it is going off in response to the IR remote control that you're using to stimulate it, is likely setting off your detector.

It's likely that some reflective object/surface in the nearby area is causing you to elicit the alert on the detector, even when the Blinder head was turned to face away from the detector.

Certainly, in your situation, since you reported that you tried to completely cover trhe Blinder head, it does also seem likely that you're getting interference from a secondary source - either RF interference from the Blinder being triggered or, perhaps, some kind of voltage-induced (ground loop is also a possibility) alert on the x50, which has been reported before in many automotive applications.

Yeah, the X50 can do some strange things with laser alerts occasionally.

besides, if the were somehow "linked" the X50 would say "shifting" instead of laser.

No thanks needed, bruddah. Just glad to try to help out a fellow hobbyist.

    Best of luck!
