Default Need help Deciding on M45 blinders or the Zr4 Shifters!

I live in West palm beach Florida, As of right now I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy a Sti radar detector, for my Bmw 335i But now for laser jammers do I go with the M45 blinders or the Zr4 shifters?

M45 has for laser blockers and Has very good review and block 11 of the 12 laser guns i believe and the new once coming out may 12th will block all 12 plus the new one that came out in Europe that can make its way to the US.
    Cost is $679.95

The Zr4 Not much info on that one, but the Zr3 that its replacing I heard good and bad things from it. I was told it only blocked about 8 of the 11 guns and there isn't any install instructions on where to place the lasers and in what angle.. The new Zr4 is suppose to block 11 or 12 of the 12 laser guns out today but theres not test done for it yet..
    Cost $399.99

SO what do you guys have to say? any help would be Great!

Simple  Wait until the next round of GOL tests.

In my eyes, both are "unproved" products.

My 9500CI is supposed to be here tomorrow or Monday. Once it is installed, I'm going to be shooting a decent variety of laser guns against my ZR4s within the next two weeks. My tests will not be anywhere near as scientific as GOL's, but I should be able to give you a decent idea of how well they work on my car.

As for the Blinders, I have no clue.

Ignore the Escort Bandwagon trying to sell you the Zr4. While we have seen good performance from a unit test by a retailer wait until you see the results from an independent party.

If I have learned anything from this industry(been active observer for about 4 years now) is NEVER buy the first batch of any laser jammer or radar detector!!!! Everytime I have seen the release of the first batch of any of those products(Anti-Laser, Blinder M25/45, Valentine 1 with the first 1.8 w/pop, Escort 9500i, BEL STi, Laser Interceptor, etc.) there have been issues with them...

    Spoiler: show

    Radar Detectors-V1 & BEL v995
    Laser Jammer-Laser Interceptor Quad
    GPS Camera Locator-Cheetah C100
    GPS Nav-Garmin nuvi w/Trapster
    CB Radio-Galaxy DX-949 w/Wilson 500
    Scanner-RS Pro-96

While I understand your reasoning, I don't think you'll see the usual growing pains with the ZR4s for these 2 reasons:

    1. The ZR4 seems to be basically an updated ZR3. Escort has been selling the ZR3s for about 5 years with high reliability rates.

    2. Escort seems to have taken their sweet time releasing these. I'd venture to say that there has been a good deal of pre-release testing done on the ZR4s. The normal rush to market on a new product seems not to have been the case for this product.

That being said, the fact that this is a new product release is exactly why I bought and am having my 9500CI professionally installed by an authorized Escort dealer. That way, if there is any problems, I can drive into the place I bought it and let them deal with it.

Also, I'm not on the Escort bandwagon as you call it. I'm not telling anyone to buy anything. As a matter of fact, I think I lead the league in "wait for the GOL results" posts. Also, by using the word "bandwagon", you seem to be implying that I might be inclined to hide the truth, should the ZR4s turn out to be subpar. I can assure you that if I feel that the ZR4 sucks or has a problem, I'll be the first to come right out and tell everyone, just like I did with this problem:

Yet it appears that the heads are similar to the Zr3...So I am willing to bet they just changed the jamming algorithms... So either way I am not going to jump on the boat yet until it's independently tested.

Also it's an LED jammer which honestly have horrible performance especialy only being able to used 2 heads up front.

And with another jammer that uses diodes entering the market which you can't talk about here (LS) and the price seems to be reasonable.

$450 for a jammer with 80% jamming performance versus
$600 for a jammer that could possible have 95-100% jamming performance

why would you even bring up the LS here? you have been going after AQ over on another board for months about that. I'm not sure what your agenda is but it is suspect.
