Thread: M20 or M25 ??

    Default M20 or M25 ??

I've searched and couldn't really find exactly what I wanted to hear. My friend has a Blinder M20 and is about to sell his car, and offered to give me the M20 for a friendly price ($100) compared to what he paid. I've been looking on this forum and looking into laser jammers, and I see everyone raving about how great the M25 is, but not much about the M20 as far as how it compares to the M25.....

So I was wondering, would it be worth it to spend an extra $200 for the M25, or would the M20 work almost as well? I really like the sound of this deal my friend has made me, but I am worried it won't work as well.. Exactly how much better is the M25? Significantly?

Anyway, thanks! This is my first post, but I love the site!

M20 is outdated. I doubt it will offer much protection for you and who knows if its still working correctly after being installed in your friend's car. The M25 is Blinder's current model and has been shown to have respectable performance.

If you decide to go with the M25, PM Radar Roy. He may be able to give you a discount for radarbusters.com

What type of car do you plan on installing this jammer on???

Please don't listen to people trying to get you to immediately switch to an M25 as the M20 is still a great jammer

Yeah but its not up to date, thats the thing for me. And the new performance that you get out of the M25 is also a up to get that instead of the M20. And the Truspeed is the biggest thing.

For all we know the M20 could be better at the truspeed than the M25

Having a laser jammer is better than waiting to build up funds to buy a laser jammer cause I got my first and only speeding ticket(laser gun) when I was saving up for a laser jammer

Damm that sucks rob, yeah I hate reccommending a detector for a person who lives in a state like NC or a state that is saturated with Laser Guns because their more than likely to think their detector is enough and its not. Honestly I think we should start seeing more Jammer/RD combos like the 9500ci because this is the new standard now you have to get both. I don't see why the zr4 shouldn't perform as good as the LI or at least the blinder.

Yeah it deffinatly could be, but I think to get updates and s*** you need to have the new M25 j15 or later. But I feel the same with you on that and many of your points.

The reason why a zr4 or a blinder will not meet the performance of the Li is simple. Its not algorithms or anything like that. It's the amount of IR light they can put out. LED's cannot match the performance of a laser diode if you compare watts to watts.

Yeah most deffinatly thats not what I was trying to imply though.

There's no reason the Zr4 should be able to compete with the Blinder or LI. They should invest and do some R&D and have the Zr4 or really Zr5 be a great system. Its killing their 9500ci sales and nobody wants that hunk of junk on their car. There better of selling the system for 1500 W/O the laser jammer than 1600 With it. I think escort needs to step up their game on Laser Jammers for sure, the company ethics are deffinatly behind it but no throughput. I think they could even create a Jammer system that would be par with the Blinder and that would be enough, utilizing LED's. But the 9500ci with a Laser Diode based Laser jammer for a reasonable price along with their companys values (like fast updates and good cs) would be sold like hott cakes. Instead of somebody spending 500 on a alright detector and 700-800 on a good laser jammer they could have the best detector for around 1000 and 600-700 for a laser jammer.

BTW, I think their R&D costs have been surpassed considering they only had to make the detector and its a 1600 dollar unit. I know of 15 sold on this forum alone which is over 20,000k. Which is why I have reason to believe that in the future the price should drop and more features should be offered at the same price since it doesn't cost as much to make anymore. (Disclamer - [Don't come firing back at me] Some of that is not going to be correct but based on experience, hypothesis, and my conclusions it should have some truth to it.)
