Default Big mistake by Blinder Dude?

Because of the "misplacement" issues of the transponders in the GOL testing (installed by blinder dude himself), I posted the results on corvetteforum.com and the concensus is that the ZR3 is a better unit. Oh, well, blinder looks bad and Escort may benefit. Perhaps he should not be cocky and think that just because it is a blinder, you can just throw it on the grill anywhere, the arrogance may have cost some sales.

I can tell you that placement played a HUGE role on the poor performance. I am saying this because i saw with my own two eyes what happened when placed in a better location; punchthroughs were cut in half! TRUST me the Blinder would have done MUCH better if heads were placed in a better location, I would bet my life on it!

I placed the blinders in the position that they were in, blinder dude placed his prototypes where I had them, it is hot his fault that his jam, mers were installed poorly, it is where the "amatures" would install them, its where I felt it would offfer the best protection. I have learned a lot from that installation. I wish I could have a second chance at installation, i know the blinder is a lot better then what that test showed.

If it can stealth my silver car out like it does, the blinder isnt getting enough credit.

I have learned that from this test, the blinder can preform emaculate, but the placement is SO much harder then what meets the eye. Diodes are easier to place because they put out enormous power, but who needs that power if you just need to place it right.

(time for my cheesy anology) why use a 3ghz CPU when you only need 500 mhz?

Sethy, can you expand upon what you learned about placement? What led you to the new, better mounting location over the less-effective location? Also, what was it about the original location that was deceiving? This kind of information could be a gold mine for people like me who have never mounted a jammer but might do it in the future. For that matter, there may be some who think that they are covered but might benefit from some adjustment.

I would have loved to have seen those numbers from that SUV with a better placement. We all know the Blinder is good... Would have been great to see how good.

I would say take those punchthroughs and cut them in half. That is what a better placement would have done

But hold on... what was the problem with the install? I think i saw a pic or something somewhere... or maybe that was from SML... of the way the Blinders were mounted.

If i remember, the blinders were installedo n the top front of the bumper where no one would realistically install the blinders anyway... a very obvious, clear place. Is that still the case?

Basically, I believe you shouldnt mount to high, you should always try to mount closest to the center mass of the vehicle. The top blinders should have been mounted to the left & right of the center part of the headlight, not above them like we had them.

The other thing that came to mind when I saw the placement up on the hood is the 18" rule discussed in the installation video on Roy's site. As soon as I saw the pics of the placement it didn't make sense. I can hardly wait to see the video.
