Default Blinder M45 vs M47: is there a BIG difference?

    Hey guys!

I currently have a blinder M45 Xtreme system on my car, all four sensors in the front. I now want to add some protection to the rear, and was thinking of buying another blinder system.

I have tested my blinder M45 system with a pro laser II, and it jammed the gun every time, every run. So it's apparent the unit works!

I have an SUV, so i think i'll need the power of 4 sensors on the back, not just two.

I'd like to get another Blinder M45 Xtreme, but when i went to look for it, i noticed there's a new system out, a Blinder M47 Xtreme system (selling for a little more than the M45).

Is there a BIG difference between the M45 and M47? Reading from the blinder site, it states the M47 has MORE powerful sensors, but doesn't state which model it's "more powerful" than. Do you think this is just bull? Or do you really think it's more powerful than the M45? The sensors look exactly the same...

It also states there's some USB update thing... I guess that would be ok? I just don't see spending another $100 for this feature when i can get an M45 for less... which i know already works...

    Any input/suggestions appreciated!

Yes there is a BIG difference. The M47 is better than the M45.

performance wise? Or just because of the USB thing?

Performance wise. Some of us even like a M47 may equal a LI dual performance wise.

Hmm, i guess it's worth the money for the upgrade...

Should i un-install the M45 in the front and replace it with the M47, putting the M45 in the back?

From what i've researched on here, it seems the M47 worked better at short distances than the M45 did. So maybe i should keep the M45 in the front and put the M47 on the back?

When i was testing my pro laser II gun on other cars, i noticed when shooting people from the front, i started at long distances, but when i shot people from the back, they'd usually be right in front of me, just passing.

This means i'd probably want a better performing jammer on the back since i need better "short distance" protection in the back rather the front, no?

I understand your logic but I am going to have to disagree. I would put the M47 on the front and the M45 on the rear. The better performing jammer should be on the front because in the real world most LEOs shoot front laser. Rear laser is used but not as much as front laser. Also, the PL2 is one of the hardest guns to jam but just because you JTG against the PL2 doesn't mean you will JTG against every other lidar gun. Have you tested your setup against other laser guns? Also, what vehicle is the M45 on?

huge diff the cpu in the M47 is in a box and not in the heads like the M45, LED are stronger, and it uses a look up table for jamming. You can also upload Euro or US mode...

I put an M27 on my F-150, replacing the M45. It performed as well if not better than the M45.

I haven't tested my setup against any other gun, only the pro laser II. I doubt it would make a difference though based on everything i've seen against the M45. It seems that the M45 either works, or doesn't. I haven't seen a video proving the gun makes much of a difference.

At distances above 300ft, the M45 seems to jam everything. It's under the 300ft mark where it varies...

But who cares, by then i can clearly see any cops in my view. I'm worried about long distance shots, or them hiding, only being visible when i pass them, having them nab me from behind at short distances...

I mean, i'm pretty much positive i'm covered in the front with the m45. Is it worth the 5 hours of work to remove the m45 from the front putting them in the back? It's a hard decision

Getting PTs under 300 ft can pose a problem. Someone LEOs set up "ambush" style. This means the LEO is hidden and doesn't target your vehicle until you are under 500 ft. By the time, you get the alert and apply the brakes, you will be around 300 ft from the LEO.

Also, testing against different guns WILL make a difference. A couple months ago I tested a truck with a M45. It had Veil on the chrome and headlights and a plate cover. Here were the results:

    PL3: 581
    PL2: 734
    LTI Marksman: 274
    LTI Ultralyte: 247
    LTI Truspeed: 174
    Stalker LZ-1: 405
    Prolite+: 1500
