    Default blinder head protection idea...

ok, I have been thinking about some way of protecting the blinder heads from damage, mostly something in case I get tapped in the parking lot. Now even if I sink them in the bumper more, it's made of urethane and will bend so the heads will still be hit. The one idea I had was to build a metal "L" bracket that would screw into the blinder mounting holes basically making it part of the heads. The bracket would extend out 1/4" past the head to offer protection and if it does get hit the bracket will move with the heads. Check out the picture for a better idea. Let me know what you think. I did it paint so no laughing.

That would work, but maybe a more clandestine option would be to mount them on an L bracket within your bumper (cut holes for protrusion) so that if you get hit, the metal bracket will bend forward INTO your car.

Your idea would obviously work better, but maybe be a bit more obvious than you desire?

I would not worry..If someone hits you in the rear they hopefully would have insurance to cover the PARKING SENSORS that they damaged!!

I'm not worried about people the leave a note or someone that hits me while I am in the car. I am worried about someone hitting me and me not knowing who did it. Problem is that my deductible it just as much as two new heads are and if I didn't know who did it, it would come out of my pocket.
