Question Will Blinder M47 be alble to...

Will Blinder M47 be able to counter laser on a white mini-van with no front plate and veil on all lights (plus a plate cover on back)? Is there any hope of blocking a lidar read on my white whale?

The reason I ask is because I have to drive the white mini-van all over the state for work. I like the mini-van...comfy...but if I plunk down $750 bucks on the M47, and use veil and a rear plate shield, will it be worth it on a white van? Is it impossible to block all lidar?

Florida is using more and more lidar. I see the troopers starting to really use it. Ka band still is dominant, but I have a new Escort Passport 9500ix for radar that works great. Nothing for laser! It only takes one quick laser hit to ruin your day.

So what do you think? Any hope at all for lidar blocking? Or is it a lost cause??

Can you post up some pics of what you are driving. The plate shield may cause you more problems than it cures. I have been stopped twice for plate covers (only reason for the stop).

With Veil and perfect placement you have a chance, but need to see pics to give you an idea.

Not sure what the plate cover laws are in Florida but its up to a $1000 fine in Georgia. 2nd what Cat said, its going to depend a lot on the van. Contact the Radar Roy crew, and let them know you're a member of this site for a discount on the Blinders.

Will contact Roy for sure and buy from him...if I stand a chance.

About the plate cover...how do you protect yourself from a rear hit if you do not use a cover on the plate?

    My van:

    Thanks!

Jammers is how I protect my rear.

You are planning on using an M47 for front and rear protection?

If so you are going to have to cut that front grille and Veil the headlights. Still a question mark. I have 2 heads up front on an F-150, but the grille is totally black and headlights are Veiled. It performs pretty well.

On the rear I also have 2 heads, but it does not do as well as the front. After about 500' from the gun it's good, till then it has a few weak points.

Yes...front and rear. I always wanted to get a black grill for this van. I think it would look cooler. How much $$$? Good question. So, if I read into this, having the blinders where the bottom openings is would be too far away, yes? Hmmm...cut a new black grill? I will have to think about that. Might be worth it just to "jam it to the man".

I bought a repleacment grill for the F-150 for about $60 online, cut it and mounted the Blinder heads flush into the grille.

Cool! So you think there is hope for the "white whale" after all? Otherwise I do not want to waste money on a no hope situation.

There's always hope, I don't know if 2 heads will fully protect the rear or not, but I think 2 will do pretty good on the front.

My advice is to get the M47 and a black replacement grille. Cut the grille for optimum placement, Veil the headlights and fog lights, and test. If you need to add a third head to the front and retest. Once you have the front then worry about the back.
