I had another M40 head leak & freeze to death this winter. While cleaning out the garage I was about to toss the old head. I have all kinds of neat tools & a work bench with a big vice. Decied not to toss the old head but to see what is inside first. The small sledge hammer, Channel locks & vice did the trick & defeated the epoxy holding in the good stuff. Anyone need any parts?
Here is what we are opening up. A less than 5 year old M40 head produced in May of 2005.
Outer case broken away. Noticed the recieving lense have metal shields.
The pesky seal that has killed 2 of my M40 heads by letting water in.
The money shot! Epoxy peeled away & metal shield removed from the drak recieving lenses.
Ever wonder what is in the cord? Nothing fancy. Just 4 smaller wires.
