Default I need to test my blinder!

I drove by 2 cops using laser today (I could see them) but the blinders stayed silent. They were both both stationed on the right side of the road, so they may not have been aiming on me. One of those times I was tailing another car, and the other time it looked like he was aiming at the right line.

    Sethy M8!
I have the same symptons, pre-M20 install I've been shot at least 10 times. It's good to have the V1 scream at you. Luckily I haven't had any tickets yet.
I've tried the old remote control trick that works on the V1 but no joy with the M20. Fingers crossed it will work the day I get lasered for real.

As for your encounters with the cops, did your V1 sense the laser?

Default Your blinder might be outdated

I beg to differ. I have an M20 on my car and tested it against several lidar guns. Of course they were all jammed except for one gun....the Laser Atlanta when used in "stealth mode."

Sethy, you probably were hit with a Laser Atlanta. If you need to test your Blinder m20 I do sell used lidar guns and you can email me for more information. You will also need a night vision camera to see if the Blinder is triggering. Maybe it's just a simple problem with your speaker? I'm assuming your buzzer sounds off when you start the car right?

You've seen my RMR test videos on my website and soon I'll post a Blinder test video. For all you people that think the Blinder works 100% of the time I'm sorry to say you're wrong. I have emailed Blinder about this issue and they told me that there are different software versions of the M20. The problem is a version number is not written on the box. You will need to email blinder to have them run the serial number to see if it's the most up to date version.

    Default One more thing

I forgot to mention that no radar detector can detect stealth mode and I'll tell you why. Craig Peterson and the engineers at Escort told me the LA in stealth mode sends out a double pulse laser. This is in a way like the POP mode of radar. Pulsed photo recepters alarm when an IR wavelength receives 3 or more pulses within a set amount of time. Stalkers, ProLasers, LTI's, and Standard Laser Atlanta's shoot off a beam that is 30+ pulses a second. The detector will then set off because 3 or more pulses were received within the set time limit. Why not just make a detector that alarms when an infrared beam is detected regardless of the pulses? The problem with this is you would have hundreds of false alarms. IR light is naturally occuring in the environment, so to take out the false alerts you need to have the detector alert to pulses only.

What does this all mean? If you think you were shot with a laser gun and both the blinder and your detector didn't go off you were shot with a LA in stealth. If you were shot with laser and the detector sounded off, but your Blinder didn't then you weren't shot with stealth and your Blinder may be defective. Be sure to clean the Blinder lenses everyday! Dirt affects the range of course.

Yikes. Sounds like that Laser Atlanta gun is going to be a real pain. Not impossible, though. The manufacturers should be able to develop software upgrades that look for sequences of double pulses. Whereas lidar pulses MUST be rhythmic, nature isn't.
