A good friend of mine toasted his STi at the track a few months ago. He's a mechanic by trade and after going round and round and round and round with Subaru about the warranty coverage (none on the track apparently) he tore the engine down and found the Scuby oil pick was starved during repeated laps on one of the long turns. He thinks Hi-G cornering pooled the oil up away from the pick up and after a few laps "bam". We were kind of passing by each other at a trade show so he didn't have time to elaborate. Should see him again in a couple of weeks and get more details.
Don't know if the Scuby's have a dry sump option but if you track an STi then it may be a priority upgrade. Just a thought since my man left about 32K in the garage.
