Cheapest way to get some bump?

Well i do not have much funds...

I want to know my cheapest option to get more bass in my car?

I will have it installed because I do not know what I am doing

I bought an Infinity Basslink on ebay for $125 and that thing sounds like money man its awesome!!!

Are you using a factory stereo or an aftermarket?
Depending on that answer then we can give you some ideas.

If you are just using the factory system then you might look at some of the bass tubes or the infinity bass link or other manufactures that have an amp and crossover built into them and all you have to do is have it installed.

If you are using an aftermarket unit and depending on how many pre amp outputs it has on it you could add a subwoofer amp and drive a few subs that way.

The seperate amp/subs is the best way if you want some serious bump.

This is one of my other hobbies I have besides radar detectors.

id suggest one of those premade subs in a box, run a rca out from your deck..if you are using std deck just use a RCA converter from the rear speakers to an amp.

I run 2x 12 inch dual voice coil subs and it is over 135db...nice and loud/. :shock:

i have an aftermarket head unit

all my 4 speakers are also after market

the sound did get more clear but i lost bass

best buy i got 2x10s in a bandpass box and man they were loud for the $75 i payed but not as loud as my JLs

If you are going to put in a subwoofer of any kinda, it will cost a minimum of 200 bucks. There is no way around spending at least this much because of all the stuff you need.

First, you need a subwoofer wiring kit for the power, ground, RCA, head-unit power wire, and speaker wire to run from an Amp to the Sub(s). Those run about 80 bucks for something respectable.

Second, you need to buy an amp. You can usually catch a good deal at Best Buy for around 100 bucks depending on how many watts (always read RMS ***NOT PEAK*** (more on this later). An amp with 150 RMS or more will power a sub relatively well, especially an efficient subwoofer.

Third, you need to buy the actual speakers. 10 inch subs will give you a tighter sound but they won't shake you as hard as 12 inch subs will. I would either get a 10 or 12, its really personal preference. Demo all the subs you can. This will cost at least 50 bucks for a crappy speaker, and up to a couple hundred for a respectable one. JL makes nice stuff here.

Fourth, buy/build a box. I would just buy one. Sealed, ported or bandpass, listed from quietest to most obnoxious, respectively. Unless you are listening to Wu-Tang and ganster rap, dont get a bandpass, they are stupid loud and sound like garbage. Sealed/ported are nice, small and give a clean install. This will be minimum 45 bucks.

Don't get sucked into buying one of those amps with "1200 watts!!!"...This is marketing! Peak watts don't mean a thing, it's like buying a car that cannot reach speeds above 80 with a speedo that goes up to 200 MPH. RMS is what the amp will run at all the time. 150 RMS or more is good, just check out some audio forums for some recomendations.

If you want you can get a Bazooka tube, but they never sound good. Even the 12 inch ones they make sound hollow and dull. Plus they cost about 200. If you already have an aftermarket head unit and 4 aftermarket speakers, why not just put in a little more money and complete ur system?
