My dad's 2000 Suburban finally died (it had over 200k miles, we beat the crap out of it) so he's off to search for a new large SUV.
My immediate family has 8 people, so we need the largest SUV's and those that are truck based for lots of towing (boat and generators).
With a version of the Expedition the same length as the Suburban, we're having a tough time deciding between the two. Also, we're considering a Navigator (extended) or Yukon XL Denali. All these SUV's are a little over 220 inches in length. We also looked at the Infiniti QX56 and Nissan Armada, but they're probably too small at a little over 200 inches.
I personally think the Expedition is a nicer looking vehicle. I liked the 2000-2006 generation of the Suburbans better, and I'm disappointed as to how the new ones look. The features are what's getting to me. The Expedition and Suburban both have some great features that the other doesn't have.
If anyone has any info on these SUV's feel free to chime in.
PS. Suburban is available with 5.3 or 6.0 with 310 and 366hp respectively.
Expedition is available with 5.4 with 300hp.
