Since I don't own a mustang I can't give you make model of what is best housing/projector for your car. You might want to try HIDplanet.com and hit the forums. IMO, the best would be a true retrofit of a good projector into any housing with a clear lens. My preference would be a bi-xenon setup and still retain my high beams as "extra" on my Sonata. On the Sequoia it would need to be a LARGE bi-xenon projector because my housings are HUGE.

This is the kinda of cutoff you'll get from a good retrofit. Time to ask questions from the lighting experts just like the RD/jammer experts.

The HID forum told me to do exactly that..

Retrofit a housing with good projectors from another car... I'd rather pass on it if I have to do all that.

Absolutely not... I only goit HIDs to improve visability. >_<

I'll forget the whole idea if housings won't improve anything.

^ That's, unfortunately, what you'll need to do.

Your current headlights' optics just cannot handle what you have, with the HIDs.

Some vehicles' headlamps are better able to cope with such a change, but unfortunately, yours is not among those.

Look around on the enthusiast Forums for your vehicle. There may already be someone who does this work on a per-cost basis.

The other thing you can do would be to install aftermarket lighting, period - such as a set of quality aftermarket driving, fog, or auxiliary low-beam lamps. This will not involve opening up your factory headlamp housings, but will still require basic wiring skills, and may involve some aesthetic compromises (as well as performance compromises) in terms of placement (or may require cutting body panels).

You think you could find some clear lenses? It clearly seems like your housings are the problem, regardless of what bulb you get. Look around a Mustang forum to see if there is a better replacement.

I wouldn't buy cheap projectors. Keep in mind, HIDs bulbs are longer than a halogen bulb. As such, HIDs won't fit in a lot of aftermarket projectors. Also, some of those cheap projectors have horrible optics.

Plus, as FastGT said, they look rather ricer-esque IMO.
