Maybe go in a diesel car? You won't be getting the good economy of going 70, but I'm guessing it would be better than what the M5 got? Stick to the interstates, and you'll have plenty of trucks stops to fuel up on. Plus, you could use those awesome trucker pumps that would fill you up in seconds.

to fill up 32gallons of fuel Alex had it timed to taking 5minutes total. In his recons run he checked every gas station he would possibly fill up at to both take credit card and have a newer fast pump system.
If Alex doubled his fuel cell capacity and took some more decoy cars he would definitely of break in 30 hours.
If I were to do this goal a car like the e39 M5 would be my choice as it is said to be the best rally car

Apples to Apples my ass! They based it off the Express & the rules were there ARE NO RULES!! Its about getting there the fastest and that is all that matters!
I defiantly wouldn't mind being involved but I'm a poor college student as of now but I would do whatever I could to help, that is for damn sure! In about 1 1/2 years though I could be in position to give it a go.

For the sake of gamesmanship were the Express rules only 2 drivers? If not I would very highly consider a 3 person driver team. Less Fatigue factor & the ability to handle all the task much more efficiently! If I didn't feel it could be broken I wouldn't even think about it but the AVG speed required is really not that bad and completely plausible.

there were never any rules to any of the runs as long as no used a another vehicle(cargo plane) to get your car across country
