I love racing my truck, not on pavement though and only against other trucks. My v6 Tacoma beats my friends frontier every time
Off-road racing in trucks in the dirt is cool. I think street racing them is retarded, but it's a fact of life in South Texas so I roll with it. The only thing that nags me is many of them know they only got a 0-60 shot so they tend want to wanna fck around on surface streets where traffic and speed limits will keep the speeds down in they're performance range. That said I've been owned many times on the interstates by high end BMWs and Mercedes that just disappear once you get over 100. The BMW M5 just embarrasses the vette at speeds over 120.

It should hold its own against an M5. The BMW is limited to 155 also.
My old car was a Corvette C6. I ran with two M5's on three separate occasions. All of them were E60 M5s which was the problem. The C6 held it's own up to 100 then the M5s all started to leave me. At around 120 they just walk away. This statistic should give you a point of reference:
Corvette LS2 C6 0-150 21 seconds
E60 BMW M5 0-150 17 seconds
That four seconds means a lot of car lengths at 145 mph.

The limiter is easy to take off with an electronic re-tune which along with the right wind will put you at 200mph (more like 196 top speed to be exact). And it can hit those speeds by the time my car hits 130mph or so it seems. I think it makes sense that it can walk away from a vette at those speeds.
German cars are built for the autobahn, the M5 especially so. Acceleration on the autobahn starts at 130kph (85mph) when you enter the derestricted zones, so it makes sense that an M5 would be better at this than the vette. I mean, the MB I drove was a 4cylinder kompressor 4 door family car that went 145mph!
I had to get to work this morning super early (4:30 a.m). I was amped on RedBull so I raced a couple of guys in a Olds 98 at a stoplight at this same section of Westpark where the Titan was trying to race me. The road was deserted so it seemed like a good idea at the time.
But of course at the worst possible time Joe Plumber pulls out in front of us because he doesn't expect cars do be going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone at 4:30 in the morning. Go figure??
I tapped my brakes to slow down when it was clear he was pulling out but for just a second there I was scared I was obstructing the Olds behind me's view of the guy pulling out But he saw it and everyone slowed down and no harm was done. But as you might expect Joe Plumber was a little pizzed.
Streetracing is dumb. But I did beat him to 60.

Erick: Is it worse in the GTO than the Vette? I find that everyone thinks for some reason they can take a Vette. Even soccer moms in a Honda Odessey. What's up with everyone wanting to try you off the line?
And you wouldn't believe how many Vettes think they can race a rocket...
