Hey I drive a Mini and I would try you just to see how my little POS can do against a fast car. Its not like I would expect to win. I have beat faster cars before. My reaction times are damn good and some people have the money to buy fast cars but not the skill to drive them!

That reminds me when I raced a CBR1000RR (with Repsol paint scheme) and I hung with him to like 80 b/c he was scared to let the front wheel up and he missed his shift. I beat him off the line and then he caught up to me and started to pass me and then we shifted and I got up next to him but then by the time he finally got into gear he was gone. I regretted it immediately b/c he was a squid and almost hit a car while splitting traffic at 60-70mph after I slowed back down to near the PSL.
P.S. I was on my (sold) FZ6... which shouldn't ever be able to hang with a CBR1000RR.
At 100 mph or over I will smoke any 600 cc bike.
1000's and busa's etc. no.
Off the line, bikes just plain rock.
The faster they are going, the slower they accelerate due to their poor aerodynamics.
And Im a bike guy BTW. Raced superbikes for 10 years, 22 on the street.
And you wouldn't believe how many Vettes think they can race a rocket...
My racing days are over, had my fill of thrills with 15 years of bicycle racing. It was a sad day when you tore up a $5K bicycle, I can't imagine tearing up a $50K car.

FYI, a 996 turbo S is just as fast as an FZ6 (to about 60 in a straight line)... I experienced it first hand and then later verified it (it is the fastest 996 0-60). I was amazed the first time a car really tried to race me and then actually started to pull away!
GPRacer, did you ever get to ride a YZF-7R in your experience?
I have heard when the extra bank of injectors is turned on, it was one of the best all around bikes (of its time) for spirited riding (though not all out speed)...
My bike was the pig of its time, just had the most revered handling to be put on a sportbike... oh so forgiving, thats why it went virtually unchanged for over a decade.
The R7 OW-02 was a $30,000 sportbike offered to the public.
Only problem was that in 2001 when the GSXR-1000 cam out, I got one of the first ones for $11,500 out the door(was working at a dealer) and it made 8 more HP @ 142 to the wheel than the Yamaha. It was cool, but quickly got overtaken just like every 2 years now when the next model comes out. I would love to have one of the 500 made per year sitting in my living room.
Holy crap, is that a KKK member in a sheet at the :22 mark in this video. This is exactly what I think of the people that would want to go and see trucks race the 1/4 mile.
