Well, it does look cool.
I read an article in one of the car magazines a few months back about the Saudi's and their lifestyle around supercars. They have so much money, they have no problem paying the 15-20% premium if they're the one's to get the first car over there. It's nuts, the one guy said they only keep the cars for a year or two, then get rid of them and buy the newest ones. A couple people there do have tried and true American Muscle too! Anyways, it was a good read, and very interesting.
looks cool but its just paint and not really gold or gold plated.

that car could be titty pink and i would drive it!!!
I wonder how that would affect laser jammer performance...
wow that must cost some $$$
Pretty, and it's an SLR too. Before clicking the link I thought it would just be another crappy Mercedes.
haha.. you would need 2 Hi powered quads LI to protect that thing. I think it would look pretty gay if I saw it driving down the interstate. However, it would probably look pretty sweet in the middle of the desert. Seems like the glare might be a driving hazard though...
that would be pretty cool to see in the middle of the desert..i didnt think about that..i wonder if the car itself gets hotter than say like a white color car?
Generally the better a surface reflects light, the cooler it stays. However, chrome plated objects tend to get hotter than other surfaces... I am assuming it is because the metal base conducts more heat. I am also assuming the that this paint job would act similar and probably be very hot. Nonetheless, I don't really know.
Any scientist reading this?
