de-srt'ing my neon...

I have a red neon srt-4 which I friggin' love but it just looks kind of over the top.

Anyway, this summer I plan on painting it and I was thinking about changing the rear bumper to a regular neon part and losing the "dual" exhaust. It has a single 3" pipe that runs down the center and splits off into "duals" I figure I could put a single turn down behind the bumper.

I already lost the wing. I just seem to get a lot of attn. from LEOs and every kid with a fart pipe wants to race...

I really like the way SRT-4's look. They look a hell of a lot better than a Neon. I say if you want to 'sleeper' it go ahead. Where people lose my respect is when they make something their cars aren't - i.e. clones.

I'm a fan of the sleeper cars. But FYI I get every fart can SRT-4 M3 Corvette etc try to get me to race when they catch up to me at the stoplight, it's much more a brains/maturity thing....I'm just waiting til I get the video of one of them getting popped for it.

Modified SRT-4s are no way sleepers. I saw a street race going on in front of me of a badges stage 3 SRT-4 and the thing would squat and I could see the driver try to struggle with torque steer.

Also i could hear the turbo with no problem

Yea, I love the car. It's basically a tin can with a powerful motor. Mine's stage 2 and I don't think I really need more power.

It can be a little beasty to drive sometimes... I can't imagine driving one without a limited slip diff.

I just don't care for the "in your face" looks of the car, I'm sort of out of that demographic.

I'll agree with ditching the in your face look as well, less attention the better.
