I have a 2006 Ford Escape. I'm going to start getting it ready for the new england rally, and it will be configured as followed:
Duratec 3.0L V6
XCAL 3 93 octane performance tune (tuned by torrie at fastpartsnetwork)
custom magnaflow exhaust
Kenne Belle supercharger with intercooler, boost a plug, and boost a pump
H&R Lowering springs
KYB shocks and struts
It should be putting about 250-260hp to the wheels when I'm done with it. Now of course, I need a way to reliably stop that kind of power.
I've already made the decision to go with Brembo solid rotors, but I have no idea what brake pads to go for? I've read horror stories about the hawk HPS shims seperating and failure under heavy use, the raybestos pads severely deforming rotors, and the EBC greenstuff squealing and warping rotors.
I don't care about brake dust. I want great performance under heavy braking, that doesn't squeal massively (some light squealing on the street is okay, but I don't want a lot). I'm basically looking for an aggressive street/light autocrossing pad.
What does that leave me with?
