    Yeah it actually does!

I would suggest that you go one step further...black out those chrome trim rings in the lower section of the bumper too.

Would this sneaking in behind you when you are going a little too fast get your adrenaline going? In high school I actually had a siren and flasher headlights. It was pretty stupid but a few times we got cars to move out of our way thinking we were police going down the freeway. A friend borrowed my siren and he got busted driving down a residential area. His car looked nothing like a police car. It was funny as heck but they took away the siren and I never replaced it.

Without the flasher headlights, I don't think I'd mistake it for a cop car. But I can appreciate how you could easily make it into a "police car theme" sort of style.

Don't really want to do that.
It is a sickening feeling to see that red light turn on behind you. About every 3-4 years I seem to relive that experience. Hoping that with the things I have learned here and a better RD I can stretch that interval out much further.
9500ix arrives tomorrow! Looking forward to trying it out.

Black wasn't holding up as well as I would have liked to the rock chips. So I have changed it once again. It is now brushed nickel! What do you guys think about it now? I think I like it the best with this finish.

I liked the black best, but I like the nickel better than the chrome.

904, I forget, did you clearcoat the black, or is it "naked?"

I much prefer the black. With the black grille and the black trim rings, that car looks pretty darn good - for a Ford.

It was a naked "satin black" finish. But I didn't use primer and I think because of that it chipped too easy. Today I chemically removed the black paint and sanded the chrome with a 200 grit paper planning to primer and repaint. But I liked the brushed finish so decided to leave it like that for a while. I may still go back to black. Not sure. Looking back at the black when it was freshly painted looks pretty good too. (For a Ford as Swarga would say.)

^ If you do go back to black, definitely properly prep. the surface, that will help *tremendously*.

Include a matte clearcoat, if you want even more chip-resistance, but that'll depend on your final preference for cosmetics.
