Default To Black Out or Not? How does this look? 2010 Fusion

I don't like a lot of chrome on a car. I was thinking about blacking out the grill on my 2010 Fusion. Below is a quickie Photoshop job to get an idea what it will look like.

I also figure a satin black grill will reflect much less laser than the chrome? Any thoughts on that? I'm also thinking about applying Veil to the headlamp covers and fog lights.

I'll probably also order a replica front plate that is not reflective and mount it at an angle to reflect laser onto the road and not forward.

Let me hear what you think about my modest laser avoidance plans for my 2010 Fusion. Take the poll too!

It actually looks better blacked out.

And another thing - mounting your plate on an angle will do nothing.

It will look WAY better black than chrome, but it will look better with black mesh than black slats.

Tomorrow when I get home maybe I'll send you some photos of my car, I'm really into de-chroming cars.

Maybe it won't, but I was playing with a plate and it looked cooler at an angle. Plus, think of the improvement in aerodynamics! LOL.

It is my company car and I trade it in within 2 years. Don't want to make too drastic of a change to it or put much cash into the car...

Years ago when I had to buy my own cars, I also blacked out the chrome on them all the time. Volvo sold a satin black spray paint that worked amazingly well and was extremely durable. Not sure if they still sell it.

I probably only know how to use 10% if that of Photoshop. To darken the grill I only used the quick selection tool and the dodge tool. About a 2 minute job. (This was actually a bit sloppy job.) I'd probably just look a tutorials online to learn the various more common tools, etc.

That is not a real plate. It was a quick Photoshop cut and paste from the create a plate site to see what a front plate would look like on it. I don't like that frame either.

I hoping the tough look will add about an extra 50HP to the car...

It is running about 3 to 1 in favor of black... Looks like I'll be pulling the grill out one of these weekends to macho-rize my car.
