Default Counting on the paramedics if you crash? Maybe not, in a hybrid

Yet another problem with these stupid things, I never even thought about what happens when you crash a trunk-full of high voltage batteries.

Saw it. I read an article a while back saying they're working on implementing a false exhaust sound from speakers mounted around the car to let others hear that something is coming.

Weak.

Reminds me of that TV ad for the VW Jetta TDI where they're making fun of the Prius

Yeah that's the one.

Although I make fun of the ad with the Routan (they're hyping it as "German" even though it's a rebadged Chrysler Town & Country) and the one about the free oil changes (they make out like changing your own oil is difficult or something).

Prii suck. And also, it isn't the voltage that we should be concerned about, it's the current. Common static electricity that we experience in a house when we are shocked or shock a door knob can be upwards of 10,000 volts. Haven't really heard of any cases of death from that. However, I know I can kill a man with a 9V battery. It's the current that's killer in most cases. KERS system in F1 cars, [alternators, distributors, coils, starters] in road cars, or capacitors that supply the juice for a flash in a camera, all high current sources that are extremely hazardous to our health.

That TDI commercial above is d@mn funny.

That's what I always understood, that it was the amps not the voltage that was deadly.
