There was a good article in Car & Driver a few months ago about these cars. It seems that manufacturers go to great lengths to disguise their new models from prying eyes.
The article mentioned how car companies will actually disguise their cars to look like other manufacturers cars, hence the "it looks lke a a lexus, audi" etc. They'll even put fake headlights/tailights on the car to look like other cars.
