perhaps In our harsher weather they don't hold up as well.

I know England is perpetually cloudy and drizzly, but I can promise you that the US gets hotter, colder, wetter, and drier, if not usually all in the same region.

I've heard good stuff about the eagle F1's so will check those out. Which ones do you have progress? The aysometric or GSD3? The aysometric seem to get better reviews than the GSD3 from what little I've read on them, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric at tyre reviews - the online tyre guide

I have the GS-D3s in 225/40ZR18. I really love them. They're very sticky and the wet traction is so good that you almost don't notice the difference when it's raining.

I don't know anything about the T1Rs but I know Toyo makes good tires. I have Proxes4 on my car currently and their wet/dry handling is excellent.

Have you tried: Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels ?

What's the make and model of your car and have you tried any other tire manufactures?

Thanks JDS, I'll take a look at them. TBH my car Is far from fast so perhaps I'm thinking too much about this but I do like It to handle well. Alot of the reviews saying there bad are people using them on heavyer, more powerfull cars than mine so perhaps I'll give the T1R's a try If one of the local garages has them and will do them at a good price.

The tires above are for hard-core enthusiasts because they sacrifice almost everything for grip and handling.

Noise, treadlife, sometimes wet traction, all suck with these tires.

But they are crazy-fast.

I have not tried any other tires except for the Coopers that came with the car when I bought it in '03. I'm considering picking up General Exclaim UHPs next.
