Default Car is DEAD, buying a new one.

I have to buy a new car on Monday. Mine dead from transmission problems not worth the $$ to fix it. 170k miles on it. I wish I knew how to uninstall my ZR3. I don't have time to tow my car to Maryland and have a shop uninstall my ZR3, I would also need an appointment weeks in advance. I don't know what I'm going to do. Hopefully the place I trade it in at will be able to take it off for me. I'll try to fool with it myself, but I probably won't have much luck.

Sorry to hear about the bad news, but I would definitely just remove the ZR3 myself even if it voids the warranty on the product. It may take some time to trace the wiring though and hopefully you will not have to jack the car up to get the units off. Otherwise, I would salvage as much from the car as I could for resell before dumping it in a junk yard somewhere.

There's a single wire from each of the 3 heads that runs inside.
    There's 2 power wires inside.

All the rest of the wires just run between the display and the interface box and the mute control.

The hardest part will probably be pulling out the wires that ran under interior trim and through the firewall.

I will give tracing it a try. I don't even know where the interface box is located. Aren't the phone type jacks bigger than the hole for the wire? How can I pull it through?

They jacks are phone plug size. You could try using a straightened coat hanger with a small hook made on the end. Push it through the hole they made from the engine side of the firewall, loop and tape the disconnected cable end to it, and gently pull it back through.

The interface box is probably zip tied to a brace or something up under the dash.

Thanks man. I kinda expected my car to crap out, just didn't think it would be so soon. V1 is gonna have to wait a few weeks, but I will have one soon.
