I drove 3000 miles round trip to compete in this event. I had the 5th fastest time out of the 59 drivers in my class and 7th fastest for the whole event. (104 drivers total IIRC)
They used the pax system for this event, and the BSP pax they used for my Z was a killer. My springs, differential, and rear sway bar gave me the same pax used for fully prepped 450hp AWD Evo's and Sti's.
-So I ended up 9th of 59 in the RWD class, after pax. (ouch) I knew the BSP pax would pull me down the list a bit, but I wanted some good competition and wasn't dissapointed. I missed being the fastest in class by half a second to the 2007 STX national champ.
I had quite the battle with two othe great Z drivers too. The three of us were seperated by only .246 seconds, after 7 runs. I had the middle time in that side battle, so I won and lost by a hair. Everyone really "came with it." Great racing.
Enough talk.... Here's my best run from the first-ever National street tire challenge.
