    Default 2011 Mustang G.T.

    The 5.0 is back!
I might have to buy one to put next to the Cobra.

    Nice, and over 400HP!

They really need to ditch the straight axle though...

X2!! They keep it because the drag racers like it reeks havoc on the twisties.

Interestingly I saw a lot of 4th Gen Mustangs at the track last year. They said the 4th gens are better road cars than the 5th Gen. Provided you add an LSD.

Yea, I remember reading about the new GTOs before they were released. V8, manual shift, RWD, IRS and I was thinking "Yea!" we're gonna get it right.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Holden Goats, but when they came out looking like jelly-beans...

Maybe Ford will up the ante by doing an IRS and tuning it at Nuremberg.

There was a time when the US built the best, most powerful, fastest cars on the planet. Here's hoping we can do it again...

Ford is moving in the right direction, but until it doesn't feel so cheap inside and it can't go round corner I just can't bring myself to take it seriously as an enjoyable car. But then again I live more than just 9seconds down a drag strip.

About time Ford made a good Mustang. All the regular and GT Mustang's are slow as $hit stock. The 03 and 04 Cobras are the only ones worthy until now the 2011. 03 and 04 Cobras are bada$$. Cobras are not really a Mustang though, Cobras are a totally different car in a Mustang body IMO. Speaking of IRS, 03 & 04 Cobras have IRS.

It must feel really bad to not be able to beat Japanese brand cars that have a V6 from a roll in a Mustang GT "muscle" car. Example of 1 one car a 2005+ Mustang GT can not beat from a roll is a 2008+ Honda Accord coupe V6 manual transmission. It is nice to see that Ford is finally going to give the Mustang some performance for 2011. And it is about damn time that Ford offered a 6 speed manual in the Mustang GT.

No offense to the current Mustang owners, they just don't seem fast to me.

Yep I love my 03 Cobra.
Ford should of kept the IRS and made it better.
Steeda and others made a lot of great bolt ons for the IRS to improve it.
Maybe just maybe some day Ford will bring back the IRS for the Mustang.

The G.T 500 is a nice car but is a heavy pig, my 03 convertible is lighter then the G.T 500 coup and just as fast if not faster. 12.7 1/4 mile stock

Remember they measured RWHP it does have 500 BHP.

    Manufactures advertise BHP not RWHP.

The current gen mustang is lighter than the camaro and challenger, considering the 4.6 still gets to 60 in about 4.9, not so slow.

X2!! They keep it because the drag racers like it
It's also because the half-shafts they used for the Cobra IRS are notorious for breaking.
