I had a tray of BBQ liquid spill on my carpet. I had to clean the carpet about 3 times with several different cleaners and a wet vac to finally get the truck to stop smelling like liquid smoke. If you have stains just use alot of the carpet cleaner scrubbed in well, vacuum it out. let it dry good, vacuum it out again when its dry, and do it all over again until its clean.
If its really bad you can just buy a replacement carpet. They arent that hard to change.

its not really bad to replace the whole thing but im one of those people that it irritates me having stains on the carpet(neat freak!). I have been trying just a regular carpet cleaner to get the road salt off. Work for that but you could see where the rubber mat ended.

Tomm. im going to pick some of that stain remover and hope for the best.

I bought something called LITTLE GREEN from Bissell or Hoover cant remember, i just cleaned my carpet right now, looks brand new. It isn't expensive, it is like a little portable deep cleaner! Home Depot sells em.

For hard to clean greasy type stains, get some SHOUT stain remover found in the detergent section of grocery stores. It has enzymes to dissolve organic and other stains.

First patch test to make sure it doesn't discolor and then soak the carpet with it, let it set for a day, then soak with water and sponge it up. It has worked for me.
