    Default Window Tint #2

I got the little strip on the front windshield... just wondering if anyone has had issues with suction cups screwing up /pulling / scratching /warping the tint ?

I have a tint strip on my current car and had one for a year on my previous car, no problems as of yet.

+1 I haven't had any problems with mine. No problem with detection either.

No problems with my factory strip. Acts like a normal piece of the windshield. Cant speak for detection range as ive never tested it. I keep the horn JUST below the strip anyway.

I've an RX65 mounted behind the tint strip. It has suction cups, and there're two reinforced "points" on top of the horn that presses against the windshield.

The suction cups didn't do anything, but those two points are starting to wear down the tint strip. Nothing catastrophic, but it definitely rubbed off SOME tint.

Finally enough time to cure the tint so I was able to mount the Redline back up. Nice and stealthy behind the tint. You can easily make out the mirror and GPS down low on driver side, but the Redline sitting back just under the tint is invisible.. cool.

Well, the single suction cup let go this afternoon as I was going into the local market driveway, and pulled out half of my hardwire. Argh...

Lucky I caught the Redline on it's way down, and I was not on the freeway. Spent the next half hour getting all of the wire shoved back into the trim. I guess I need to use some rubbing alcohol on both sides of the cup before remounting it.

ugh, I constantly had to deal w/ this on the xtr-695 hardwire install, one of the main reasons I *HATE* windshield mounts and will never go back.
