Default my battery's at 11.9 volts

    Hello

recently my alternator died, and so i had to make one journey home without it, which caused it to completely drain my battery, and couldnt start the next morning.

i got the alternator replaced by warranty, however now my battery is not as strong as before.

before, my x50 would read it to be 12.3 - 12.5 volts with engine off.

I dont have the x50 now, so i borrowed my friend's and now it shows it to be 11.9 when engine is off.

My battery was only 6 months old.
I know that all batteries will never regain full strength once they have been substantially discharged. 11.9 volts is quite low i'd say. If i ever listening to music or leave a light on with the engine off, i'm sure i won't be able to re-start my car.

should i get a new battery?

keep in mind i do have two amps and subs, 1,100 watts.

    thanks :P

Very honestly, get an upgraded alternator if you have a sound system such as you describe. If not, what type of battery is it? Depending on what kind it is, it may be useful to try and recharge it with a trickle charger.

I don't often use my sound system at 100% capacity, mostly just at 20-30 % volume.

It's just a normal battery, 65ah, it needs to have water added. Mazda already trickle charged it when they replaced my alternator.

It needs to have water added right now, or you are telling me it is not sealed? If it needs water now, yet Mazda charged it, they probably ruined it. You never ever ever charge a batter that is low on water.

    No, sorry, i wasnot clear.

What i meant to say that it's the type of battery with the 6 holes on the top to fill water in.

IT was already filled with water when mazda trickle charged it.

but ther's no point int esting my battery's voltage if the car is on, coz once the car is on, it'll show 13.9 volts which is the alternator's power, not the battery.
