    Default New Engine

    So I am getting a new engine for my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse and currently I have two to choose from... which one should I get

    Engine A) 1998, non turbo, 145,000 miles, 90 day warranty, priced at $900

    Engine B) 1999, non turbo, 48,000 miles, 6 month warranty, priced at $1295.95

    $395 for 105,000 less miles and more CYA. B is the obvious choice if you can pony up.

    thanks for the advice, that is the one I planned on I just wanted to make sure, it was the price difference that had me worried a little bit, should be getting the order put in today.

    I owned 2 Eclipses in the 90's, the '94 Laser look alike w/manual (sounded like an electric engine at times I swear) and then I upgraded to a '97 A/T N/A. Much better on the second car. The '94 would tac at like 4500 rpms at 90mph. Zing! Both were very reliable though. ...and of course Black :-)

    The second engine will likely be much cheaper for you in the long run. You're getting far less miles and a decent warranty, should something come up.

    This is even a question?

    Do whatever you need to do to afford B. It'll save you money in the long run, unless you're just planning to dump it soon.
