I own a 2006 A6 3.2L FSI. I plan on getting rid of my car for an older lexus after hearing about numerous problems. Has anyone else here heard of the carbon buildup on the intake valves and head of the engine? Apparently this happens rapidly, and causes eventual misfires and a huge decrease in performance. Only solution, manually clean the whole thing out, which takes forever. Audi of America is being awful to consumers, making them eat the whole cost once out of warranty.
So, i'm planning on saying good bye to my A6 and hello to a gs300 or something similar. I like the german handling and all else in that car, but the headaches and $ lost are things I cannot and will not deal with.
Please let me know if people have heard about this problem, or have personal experiences good or bad.
I'm about fed up with all this new car tech which seems to just result in more headaches, and a barely noticeable performance edge when the car functions properly.
