I was wondering why people with diesel trucks leave the engine running while parked? I've noticed this a lot more with diesel trucks than cars or even gas powered trucks.
The newer trucks don't have the starter issues that the old ones had as far as I know.
It seems like such a waste of fuel to leave a 3500 idling in a wal-mart parking lot for 20 minutes. There was a guy in my high school who's dad would wait outside with the truck running. He'd walk inside, but we already knew he was there because of the sound and eventually the smell. Plus diesel fuel is expensive.
I always shut my car off if I'm sitting for more than a minute or so if I'm in a drive thru or waiting to pick someone up.
I'd love to hear your responses. I've noticed this for a while.
