Any Suby owners experience this?
I'm pretty sure that my viscous coupler in my subaru is going bye-bye. It is giving me the tell tale signs. After driving at freeway speeds for about 20 minutes, the car will start to give an awful banging sound under the rear passenger side tire area. Usually about 3 good clunks, only in first gear, under load with the clutch coming out past the friction point. It also happens when making tight left turns at low speeds. I plan on doing the job myself. I am able to leave the transmission on the car and basically it comes down to replacing the center differential. It should take about four hours. If you know what I'm talking about I would love to hear your experience.
