Default Got a new 2011 Mazda

I went from a 2006 Accord V6 stick shift to a automatic 2011 Mazda3. My back got sore from sitting in traffic with a stick. I got a lot of tickets in the Accord.

The Mazda3 is a treat if youre on a budget and need some serious sport in your ride. The 2.5 4 cylinder lots of torque and sounds great and revs fast. It handles a lot better than my old Accord.

Nice new ride! I have to say though, I liked the looks of the Mazda3 before they changed it a few years ago (2009?) Now it's more ricey-looking. On the other hand, the gaping grin gives you plenty of placement options for jammer heads. Looks like no good spots for rear heads though.

    A 2006-2008 Mazdaspeed3 makes for a nice sleeper.

Congrats on your new car. I love that new car smell.
I am sure its safer then the Honda.

Does it come stock with side airbags yet? Do people still change the oil after the first 1000 miles or was that a bunch of bull?

Yes, it comes with side airbags. I was on the 3 Forum and all kinds of responses when to change the oil. I am going to change mine at 5k, and another 5k of dino and strictly Synthetic oil. Probably stick with Valvoline Synpower.

Nice ride. Welcome to the Mazda family. The MS3 is only a sleeper if one does not know what it is. I get the same response with my car as they think it is a regular 6. Have fun with it. Zoom, zoom.

I always did mine the first 1000 miles and then cut the oil filter open to see if there were any metal shavings.

Did you ever find any? If you did, then what?

A downgrade in my opinion, but not my money or car... so if you are happy, that is what matters! You should enjoy it, I know a friend who has one, and he says his is alright... biggest thing... I see you're in Washington: Do yourself a favor... get a REALLY, REALLY good set of snow tires, your going to need them.
