Just like the Ford Ecoboost is not a real man's truck...until V8 TT as fast as a Z06...
I hate that all of these companies are going with turbos. I don't want a turbo engine. If the turbo fails, they are very expensive to fix! Just ask my buddy with an Audi 2.0T . I do like the fact that they are offering the traditional V8s with them, though. All hope is not lost
$50-60 dollars for a rebiuld kit is not expensive.
Yea, like every joe can step out and rebuild one....
Just a special clip ring tool you can buy anywhere hand tools are sold and the rest are your garage tools. Hardest part is putting it back together.
its the end of an era
If your buying a Corvette do you really care about the gas mileage ?
Why the turbo hate? One nice thing is you can upgrade/replace the turbo for increased bhp!
But you are right, turbo cars lend themselves to being readily upgraded for more power. Even just an ECU reflash to increase the max boost can make a difference.
As long as they continue to offer the 5.7L V8 as an option, I don't mind if they offer the turbo as well. The 5.7 in a Vette gets pretty good mileage anyway if you're gentle on it.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?
