Wonderful. Something else to make our detectors false and keep idiots from removing themselves from the gene pool.
Society is definitely moving in the wrong direction. Glass shards in the airbags would be a better long-term solution.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

This is really dumb...we're supposed to stop distracted driving, not create new tools to allow people to do it better!
Can you say, "false sense of security?"
The worst obstacles aren't painted bright yellow and standing in one spot on the road. I'm thinking of deer, small children running into the street, idiots pulling out in front of you because "that's what you have brakes for" (I'll tell that story some time)
I also have to wonder about all this technology that can physically take control of the car. In the trillions of hours of operation these systems will see, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were instances of uncommanded brake or steering inputs that lead to accidents or near-misses. Actually, that's the whole idea, making inputs when you're not commanding them. I trust Airbus to do that right, but not Ford...
It'd be nice if they had the TD engine here...
what about if your driving along and someone cuts real close in front of you, like not looking before a lane change... they will be close enough to set the system off so the car will stop and shut the engine off and turn on the hazards... sounds like an accident waiting to happen to me
