I still like burning my own cd's and playing them.Get good quality blank cd's and they are hard to get scratched.

    Fm transmitters ewwwwwwww.

I am one of the VERY FEW who still buy CD's. I like the quality and I like owning the actual media. Granted I put them on my Zune, and usually end up listening to them from that instead.

My Dad has a G35 and he put in a new head unit after the CD changer died. We hooked up the controls to the steering wheel and everything. USB and Head phone jack. Both are excellent. If you are willing to invest in something like that, I think it is a really great option.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Most likely I will go with the FM Transmitter, but I am not too sure as of yet.

The car I've been driving most often was built in 1995, but I installed a head unit that has a USB port and plays MP3's directly from a jumpdrive. I've been using a half gig stick I bought about five years ago and just put new albums on it every now and then.

I think any of your options - aftermarket head units and external music players plugged into 3.5 mm plugs or FM transmitters - will have great up front, one time expenses. Take an honest assessment of the cost of burning CD's and compare that with the cost of what you can do to your car to help make up your mind. Also consider the non-monetary benefit of not having to screw around with uncompressed CD's, which might be worth something to you. I think we've covered most of the options; it's your personal decision now.
