Exciting Evening...

Yesterday I'm off for about an hour drive. I'm in a hurry because I'm running a little late. I am on a 2 lane road and it heads into a small town. The speed limit is 35 MPH. So I'm running about that when I see the car in front of me start to slow down. I'm a little ways behind him.

So I hit the brakes to start slowing down.......................... brake pedal goes to the floor.

Needless to say I'm yanking on the emergency brake and slamming on the pedal to stop my car. It is only by the grace of God that I didn't get in a somewhat serious car accident. Had I been closer to that car I would have slammed right into it.

Still not sure exactly what the problem was. I got it to my trusted mechanic and he is looking at it. His first question, "is there an exhaust leak". There is. The brake line is 3 inches from the exhaust pipe.... Very likely the fluid boiled.
